Michael Sherry is a doctoral student in Michigan State University's Teacher Education Program. Interested in theater as a metaphor for teaching and teacher preparation, he plans to use videography and discourse analysis to examine how interactive, improvisational role-play can be used to help pre-service teachers connect theory and practice. As part of LARC, Michael Sherry has participated in a research project with Dr. Mary Lundeberg, Dr. Cheryl Rosaen, and doctoral students Thomas Crisp and Cherice Montgomery. The project explored the affordances of annotated video reflection in helping pre-service teachers learn to lead discussions in elementary science and language arts.
