Douglas K. Hartman is a professor of teacher education and educational technology at Michigan State University, Co-Director of the Literacy Achievement Research Center, and Coordinator of the Literacy Studies Program. He is editor of the book Stories Teachers Tell and is writing a book on Preparing the Digital Teacher. Hartman’s expertise lies in adolescent literacy, technology & literacy, and the history of literacy. Areas of particular expertise, from preadolescence through adolescence, include:
